The tolerances for the dimensions of miniature and
instrument bearings are classified according to
standards derived by the Annular Bearing Engineers
Committee (ABEC). These standards are distinguished by
criteria based on specific bearing dimensions including
the internal geometry of a bearing and mounting
characteristics such as the bore diameter (d), outer
diameter (D) and width (B).
ABEC standards range from ABEC 1 to 9, with higher
numbers indicating tighter tolerances and additional
requirements to ensure the increasing degrees of
precision. The standard ABEC grade for RotoPrecision
miniature and instrument bearings is ABEC 3. ABEC 5, 7
and 9 are also available depending on your requirements.
